Joint Tenants: two or more people holding property as co-owners. When one dies, his share of the property automatically passes to the survivor(s). (See also Tenants in Common). This describes ownership of property by two parties whereby if one of them dies, their share of the property automatically transfers to the surviving party, thus giving them full ownership. With this arrangement, no will is required to transfer the property.
